LEICESTER are urging fans to snap up their tickets for the launch of the new season next week.
Following Boris Johnson’s confirmation of the government roadmap remaining on target, fans can return to the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena next Wednesday for Leicester’s National Development League clash with Eastbourne.
Their opening home Championship level meeting is on Saturday week, May 22, against a strong Edinburgh side.
And there’s the opportunity to enjoy young British talent with twins Dan and Joe Thompson lining up in both teams.
Boss Stewart Dickson has no fears about throwing them in at reserve for the Watling JCB Lions at Championship level.
He said: “We were going to take the chance on the twins a year ago, when it would have been a bigger gamble than it is now.
“If we hadn’t included them last year, I’m 100 per cent sure they would have been lining up for someone else, but we’ve got the confidence in them and I’m never scared to give youth a try.
“If they put on even a point each, or a point and a half between them, it’s still going to be good for us. I don’t have any worries about them at all, and I’m pretty excited to see how they go at Championship level.
“The fact that they’re racing for the Cubs will help, because I know there are going to be tough places for them to go, away from home against very experienced riders, but they’ve risen to every challenge throughout their short careers so far.”
Tickets are on sale now at leicesterspeedway.com/ticketoffice with a big demand expected due to the limited crowd numbers allowed.
